Middle Earth Furniture Ltd originated when founders Ross Howard and Jon Broberg decided to create a range of finest quality hand made oak furniture with a unique appeal, bringing together Ross's experience in bespoke joinery and his associated body of highly skilled craftsmen and Jon's experience in creative design and the idea to make furniture featuring Tolkien's maps and inscriptions and images found in the new Lord Of The Rings films. The solid oak furniture with its aged appearance, unusual carvings and cast bronze features would be seen as rediscovered relics from an ancient time, furniture that seemed both timeless yet fresh, unusual and detailed but earthy and strong.

Ross approached NewLine Cinema in America and was greeted with enthusiasm for the project to the extent that the furniture be made available worldwide. Ross and Jon teamed up with serial entrepreneur and business adviser Mike Washburn and with his expertise successfully gained official Lord Of The Rings merchandise status and a worldwide license for Middle Earth Furniture. Our unique range of hand crafted furniture is now available online and can be delivered to Lord Of The Rings enthusiasts anywhere in the world.

In creating our unique furniture we have brought together not only skilled craftsmanship in the finest traditions of English furniture making, woodcarving and figurative sculpture, the age old art of casting bronze and the incredible imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien's words and maps but also the new images and graphic designs produced for the epic 'Lord Of The Rings' trilogy of films by Peter Jackson and NewLine Cinema. As antiques of the future as well as collectors pieces for the present they are both unique items of furniture and also a permanent and tactile expression of the world of Middle-Earth.

Each piece of licensed Middle Earth Furniture comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity and is a unique handmade item.
